Sligachan River, Isle of Skye

Sligachan River Isle of Skye Scotland

Sligachan River on the Isle of Skye in Scotland is both beautiful and if you believe the tales contains the fountain of youth. The story goes (short version) that if you hold your head under the water for 7 seconds your face will forever stay young and beautiful. Having just splashed the water on my face I can confirm you’ll need some strong will power to keep your face buried in that icy water.

If like me you think youth has passed you by then spending time just standing on the bridge and marvelling at the landscape before you and listening to the river below in this idealic setting is just as rewarding.

Love this shot, and can’t get enough of the Scotish landscape. I really have to make plans to get to Scotland again.

Thanks Wez. I’d wanted to get up and explore Scotland ever since I arrived in Europe so glad I finally got there some 2.5 years after getting here 🙂

My trusty iPhone. Every photo for about the last year on my site had come from it.

As for the water… You’ll have to visit yourself for that.

One of my favorite places we went 🙂 And like you, I preferred to simply take in the views rather than dunking my head underwater. I figure I’ve earned my wrinkles and laugh lines.

A beautiful view. You must have decided that your face looked youthful enough if you decided a few splashes were all you needed 😉
