Next Stop Paris

Post image for Next Stop Paris

At this very moment I will be rolling down the runway and onto my new life abroad. Left at the airport will be my parents with my poor mum crying her eyes out. I’ll also be leaving behind my prejudices, attitude and most of all my old life.

Come Sunday at about 7am Paris time I’ll be a wide eyed aussie looking to meet new people and explore. Joyed by the fact I’ve conquered my fear and boarded that plane to a country where I don’t know a soul and haven’t a clue just what I’ll see or visit first.

Given this new life that lay before me, I will need a few days to adjust and get into the swing of things. This may mean you won’t see a new blog post from me for a few days. While it will kill me to break the cycle I hope to keep in touch via twitter and myfacebook fan page, so make sure your following me there.

As soon as I’ve settled and found a beer to calm my ever growing excitement, I will be back and hoping to wow you with my European adventures. Stay tuned my friends, I can see some awesome stories coming your way very soon. After all I land in Paris on Anzac Day, what aussie doesn’t celebrate our soldiers.

For now stay safe and pray that ash cloud doesn’t bring my plane crashing back to the ground in a hurry.

Hey Sasha. I’ll do my best to remember the Anzac Spirit. Mind you if I don’t score some sleep on this overnight flight to Paris, I think I’ll be passed out exhausted come lunchtime.

Bon voyage! I’ll also be following along on Twitter. :)

I recently spent a week in Paris with a friend. Make sure to check out le Marais, a fun little neighborhood with cobblestone pedestrian streets.

Also, if you’re on a budget, some of the cheapest meals to be had are in the funky Latin Quarter (Metro: St-Michel). You can get a three course meal for 10 euro there. Great outdoor dining and people-watching – Parisians are outside all the time in the spring! Best time to go for sure.

Sitting in the park behind the Notre Dame Cathedral was one of the most memorable afternoons we spent in Paris. Way better than sitting in front of the Eiffel Tower.

If you want to do museums, check out the Paris Museum Pass (http://en.parismuseumpass.com/). It’s an excellent deal if you’re visiting multiple museums AND you can bypass the main lines.

Hey Crystal. Thanks for the info. I’m in Montmartre at the moment exploring away.

Thanks for the info will look into that museum pass as I had planned to visit a couple of them.

I can’t believe all the little parks that are spread around. I relaxed in one today for 30min or more and it was great. So busy people everywhere enjoying the sun.
