Jurien Bay Jetty At Sunset

Jurian Bay Jetty, Western Australia

Since moving to Western Australia I’ve been quietly exploring the area and getting to know my new home. To say I’ve enjoyed what I’ve seen is an understatement. To give you a sample of what’s to come on the blog now that I’m catching up, a few weeks back I took a road trip up the north coast and stayed in a caravan park right next to the Jurien Bay Jetty which you can see above.

I often took sunsets for granted but over here in the west they are something else. The one above was captured right after a storm had rolled through the town which made for a great contrast don’t you think?

Beautiful photo. I took a similar shot in Jurien Bay from the jetty a few months ago. It is a nice spot to visit. I’m currently in Broome with sunsets being truly spectacular.

Kathy I’m jealous of you being in Broome. Really want to get up there at some point, especially as the weather is starting to turn code down south.

Stunning photo, I love the stairway the sun creates on the wet paving. Hmm, maybe you don’t need to go to Broome after all! (Stairway to the moon and all!) Only joking! Broome is spectacular and so much fun to be had. This weather we’re having down south is incredible. Will this rain and howling wind ever stop?

Thanks Johanna. I’ll get to Broome at some stage, possibly soon the way the weather is for sure. Already had part of my roof blow off today.

What stunning photo! Just breathtakingly gorgeous.. I almost moved to Western Australia a couple of years back for a job, to this day I still haven’t visited. Need to change that sometime soon I think!

Hi Anna, thanks for the comment. It was a really lucky photo to be honest. The rain cleared just in time to get a photo of the sun setting. I’d also just driven over 2 hours to get back to where I was staying for the night as well.

As for WA well you’ll just have to come visit. I’m a born and bred Victorian but loving the lifestyle on the west coast.

Nice shot….sometimes the stormy nights / sunsets are the best. Good “mood” in the photo, makes me want to visit Australia too!

Great photo mate. Jurien is a lot of fun, and that jetty has some pretty good fishing. Nothing beats photos around the time of a storm – well done!

    Hi, Aussie Nomad.

Can’t believe you are living in WA! (if you still are) I’ve lived here all my life, i have been reading your posts about living in London as I’m going to travel and work there next year! its been a big help so thank you! Im so excited for the adventure! Tip for you: go to Rottnest, the island just off the WA coast. It’s a good experience and the native animal ( The Quokka) there is so cute!

Hi Lizzie, yes still living here and for the most part enjoying it (looking forward to summer arriving). I’ve already had a trip out to Rottnest (thats a big place to ride around) and a few other places which I’m long overdue to write about on the blog. Any other tips are most welcome as now that summer is on its way I’m looking to explore some more.

Also if you need any help with moving to London etc always happy to answer questions.
