The Blue Lake in Mount Gambier is something of a local attraction for me as I grew up not to far away. As a kid and adult I’d visit to see the fascinating changes in the colour of the lake. During the summer months of December to March its a beautiful cobalt blue, while during April to November its a far less attractive grey.

Wow! That is really blue! Looks great though.
Thanks goyvon, its a great view from the platforms around the lake. You can take tours down to the surface but I’ve never had the chance to do it.
Thats not in Australia is it? Wow funny what we dont realise is in our own country!
Yep thats just over the border from me in South Australia, amazing what there is to be found in our big country.
Looks like a great lake and I must admit that I’m jealous of the people who own that house over the lake.
I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw this photo of Blue Lake. I too grew up not far from Mt Gambier, on the border of South Australia and Victoria near a small town called Kaniva. Thanks for the nostalgic look back in time.
Wow! That blue is incredible. It looks so inviting!
