My First Overseas Trip Part 7

My First Overseas Trip Part 7

If you’ve missed the first six installments in My First Overseas Trip you can find them here. Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, Part 4, Part 5, and Part 6

Anybody can travel overseas and take a million and one photos to bring back to show friends and family. While photo’s are great you miss the sounds and the feeling of being there with photos.

When I first travelled overseas I got myself a trusty video camera and recorded some footage to help remind myself of what it was like on my trip. That way when I arrived home I could better share the moments with friends and remind myself of all the fun I had.

One tip I can offer is to get your video camera out whenever and as much as possible. Looking back over what I captured, was a little disappointing. I had missed entire sections of the trip, leaving moments lost completely.

But enough of the words this week’s all about the video so enjoy and be sure to comment and tell me what you think.

Next week will be the final part to this series. I’ll share with you the good, the bad and the things learnt.

This is a nice video, Chris! I am constantly shooting video when I travel. Seeing and hearing the people in action can be a far more poignant reminder of where I’e been than just photos.

Thanks Sabina. I am looking at getting a Flip or Kodak camera to take with me because they are small and easy enough to work with. That and my macbook is like the only version to miss out on getting a firewire port so my current camera won’t connect to it πŸ™

It’s so true video makes it so much more interesting to look back on.

Nice video Chris! Although I did not see you in it. Were you one of those dancing Disney characters? I didn’t know that was your other job! Kidding aside, the video is amazing. That view in Hong Kong is ridiculous. I’m glad you got both night and day shots. Looking forward to the Europe series!

hehe well spotted Suzy. I did all the filming on the trip so managed to stay out of it all, but don’t worry I’ll feature in the Europe series. I know how awesome is the view, you have to go there if your ever in Hong Kong.
