On my recent visit to South Korea I was fortunate enough to tour along the Demilitarised Zone in South Korea. At Imjingak where the Freedom Bridge is located there are millions of prayer ribbons tied to the fence which I’m told have messages of hope, dreams and wishes for unification between North and South Korea.

Even though I couldn’t read a word of what was written on them, I know they carry with them a small message of hope that one day we might all be able to just get along.

Situated at the base of the western side of the Temple Mount, the Western Wall in the Old City of Jerusalem has been the site of jewish pilgrimage for centuries. While a large majority of the 488 meter length of the Western Wall is hidden by buildings people are free to come and pray at a small 57 meter section. The Western Wall’s significance is that it is the closest point to the foundation stone which is the holiest spot in Judaism.

I was lucky enough to visit the Western Wall and tour underneath it while visiting Jerusalem recently. Whether you are Jewish or even religious at all you can’t help but feel something when standing before it while everyone is praying around you.

I managed to snap the above photo of the sun setting over the Sea of Galilee while enjoying a meal just meters from the water’s edge. It was one of the best ways to end a day of sightseeing in Israel and very close to being the most beautiful sunset I’ve seen in my life.

While it’s called the Sea of Galilee it’s much more a lake than a sea obviously. Listed as the lowest freshwater lake in the world, it only misses out on being the lowest lake in the world thanks to the Dead Sea. To add to that, the lake is also known as the site where some of Jesus’s miracles occurred like when he walked on water making it a big tourist/religions attraction as well.

If you find yourself in Israel checking out the Sea of Galilee be sure to look into a <a href="http://www.vacationhomerentals.com/vacation-rentals/Jerusalem-Israel.html" target="_blank"style="background: #FFF">Jerusalem vacation rentals plan to make your stay even more amazing.

Haifa is the third largest city in Israel and the largest in the northern part of Israel. Home to the Bahai Faith and its stunning terraced gardens on Mount Carmel you will also find leading universities in the Technion and University of Haifa nearby. Combine that with a number of high tech parks that house some of the most recognised brands in the world like Intel, Google and Microsoft and you have a city of endless potential.

I was lucky enough to visit most of these sites and meet the people who call the city home for myself. And while I’m yet to see everything it has to offer I know I’ve got an open invitation to return, especially when I’ve yet to try the best falafel it has to offer (or was that the best falafel in Israel huh Omry).
